JUNIOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

Amplify Advisors is a rapidly growing startup company that is inspired to amplify other growing businesses by helping them envision their complete financial picture.

 

We are a team of Finance Leaders, Business Advisors and Connectors who provide CFO services. We have finance leaders that work as contract CFO/controllers. Our business advisors are passionate about continuous improvement project consulting for any size finance team and organization.

 

We also assist small-medium businesses with other advisory work. Our connectors assist in the placement of finance and accounting professionals in all size entities.

 

We are seeking a registered college or university student to join our Amplify team for a summer internship position. This position will be full-time for a period of 16 weeks.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

As our Junior Business Development Associate, you will report to the Business Development & Sales Manager. In this role, you will be required to execute business development plans and programs that support our process of creating connections with the small and medium size business community.

 

This position will be a remote work from home position that will require the use of electronic devices such as a laptop and smartphone.

You will need to be proficient and an experienced user of social media platforms, such as LinkedIn, in order to compliment the plans and programs for this remote position.

Regional Vice President

Finance Leader | Business Advisor | Connector

Regional Team Lead | Fractional CFO | Business Development & Sales

The Regional Vice President will build out Amplify Advisors in their community.

They will do this through our values & by leveraging their strong business and accounting network.

The Regional VP will be a team leader working closely with the community team they build as well as Amplify Advisors National Executive team.

 

The Regional VP will work with clients directly for the first 1-2 years. The chargeable time will be approximately 20-30 hours a week. The remaining 25-40 hours will be spent on business development, sales & team leadership.

 

Our National team will support the Regional Vice President with all back-office, administration, policy, automation & related support. The team that supports includes CEO, CFO, COO, Chief Experience Officer (includes Marketing), Manager - Accounting Head-Quarters, Manager - Human Resources as well as limited support from Manager  Business Development & Sales.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

Finance Leadership experience of 5 years or more including;

 
o   Senior manager, vice president, partner or director at a Big Four firm; and
 
o   CFO of any entity exceeding $10 million in growth; and/or
 
o   Vice President Finance, Director Finance or Controller of a finance team greater than six
 

Business Development & Sales experience such as account team experience, proposals & related work at a Big Four or other professional services firm

 

Strategy experience including direct experience in a role on a team that revisited or set the strategy for the division, organization or team. A passion for strategy would be evidenced by a working knowledge of various methodologies (we work with Playing to Win and Traction primarily), a love for reading the latest studies & trends in business & strategy & formal courses or professional development that focused on strategy

 

Financial reporting including financial statement preparation, management reporting, dashboards and other required with a minimum of ten years experience

 

Business partnering experience with stakeholders and/or clients where you led the communication of the complete financial picture with insightful and strategic perspective

 

Experience with continuous improvement projects and a strong understanding of best practices that are scalable and affordable in the area of finance automation, processes, controls and organization

 

Chartered Professional Accountant designation or equivalent (CFA) and minimum ten years since qualification

 

Bachelors degree

 

Ability to oversee and perform book-keeping and all areas of finance

 

o   Tax is an asset but not required

 

o   Treasury is an asset but not required

We are seeking an entrepreneurial Business Development and Sales Manager to join our Amplify team & lead independently in their community. This position is commission-based sales and can be full or part-time, depending on the ideal candidate. We are open to recent graduates applying.  

 

POSITION: 

As our business development and sales manager, you will be a key member of our Amplify Advisor team and will report to the Founders and CEOs. In this role you will help develop, execute and promote strategic business development plans and programs that drive revenue and amplify our profile within the business community.  

 

If the thought of sitting behind a desk all day gives you itchy feet, this could be the position for you as you’ll be required to spend most of your time building relationships, attending networking events, identifying sales leads, pitching our Finance Leader services to potential new clients and maintaining a good working relationship with these new contacts. 

 

As the driving force behind generating new sales leads and contacts, you will have a passion for business development and sales, including the challenger sales approach, and general best practices. 

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 

This role requires good communication in order to: 

  • Attend business and networking events, including evenings  
  • Follow up with new business opportunities and arrange meetings 
  • Plan and prepare presentations 
  • Communicate new service developments to prospective clients 
  • Oversee the development of marketing literature 
  • Write reports and provide Amplify management with feedback 
  • Maintain our CRM system including continuous improvement and development 

YOUR EXPERIENCE: 

  • A Bachelor's degree  
  • Proven awareness of the accounting and finance function roles and responsibilities 
  • Business partnering experience and/or interviewing experience with stakeholders/clients where you led the communication and the sale 
  • Experience with sales targeting, CRM systems, market funnels, sales qualification and pricing contracts  
  • Social media management and analysis  
  • Accounting and finance knowledge are an asset but not required 
  • Participation and existing relationships within the small and medium business community is an asset but not required 
  • Awareness of continuous improvement projects and an understanding of best practices that are scalable and affordable in the area of finance automation, processes, controls and organization is an asset but not required
