Colin Sinclair, MBA

Director, business development


Colin Sinclair was born and raised in Brooks, Alberta in 1982.  Growing up learning to skate on the backyard rink, Colin had a passion for the game of Hockey at an early age.  This passion led him to live and travel all over the world while attaining life experiences and an education.


Colin played 5 years with the Kootenay Ice culminating with a Memorial Cup in 2002 where he was named Tournament All-Star.  Upon completion, he went to University of New Brunswick and completed two degrees, (MBA, BBA) in four years.  He was named to the Dean’s List as well as an Academic All-Canadian in all four years at UNB.  Colin also won numerous awards for his academics and athletics such as the Dr. Randy Gregg Award, James Bayer Memorial Scholarship to name a few.  He finished is career winning the 2007 World University Games Gold Medal and was 2007 CIS Hockey Champion.


Upon completion of his four years at University of New Brunswick, Colin played professional hockey for the better part of 3 years in markets such as Phoenix, AZ, Boise, ID and Lorenskog, Norway.  Once Colin decided to retire from professional hockey, he became an investment advisor for BMO Nesbitt Burns, which when he left he was ranked 1st in his graduating class for return on investments and asset related revenue while managing a book of over $17 million in 1.5 years.


In addition to his role at Amplify, Colin currently is one of 3 founding partners of Prescient Investments Inc. where he is responsible for strategic planning and development of a multitude of businesses from heavy construction, sports management, food & beverage, oil & gas, real estate and self-storage.  Over 17 businesses Colin is either active or invested in across Canada. 


Colin currently resides in Cranbrook, BC where he is married to Sarah and has 3 children, Mateo, Mila and Madex.  He is active in the community volunteering his time coaching minor hockey and a variety of fundraising initiatives.
